Meteor Shower

Carrying the sorrow of losing you,
I transformed into a meteor,
Streaking across the dark, lonely universe,
Finally arriving in the sky where you are.

I shattered into a brilliant meteor shower,
Exhausting my last breath of life,
Just to catch your gaze—
With your pure, beautiful eyes.

Yet amid the vast crowd,
I could not find a trace of you.
The sorrowful moon told me:
You are dreaming of love with him.

I am truly, truly heartbroken;
With my final life force,
I conjure the world’s most wondrous spectacle—
Yet still cannot touch your heart, which never loved me.

And yet, I am truly, truly elated:
Amid humanity’s passionate cheers,
I am about to vanish without a trace,
And my heart will no longer burn in agony for you…

…

The Heavenly Emperor asked me: “What do you wish to become in your next life?”
I replied: “I do not wish to be human—I only wish to become a breeze!”
Only then can I finally swirl around you,
Sharing a lifetime—forever…
